Today should have been a very exciting day, but it turned out to be a
disappointment. With a couple of friends we rented a small track in the
South of Belgium. Very twisty, short straits and slippery concrete.
Fantastic ingredients to get to learn the car at relative low speeds. Driving up to the hotel yesterday, I had some problems. The oil warning light came on every now and then. Especially in long turns. Ferrari Enzo and F430 showed up at the parking place of our hotel. Pretty common cars, ofcourse, compared to the Rocket :-). ![]() ![]() The next day R029 did it's first stint on track. It was amazing. Handling, acceleration and braking were awesome, even compared to my Honda Powered Lotus Elise. Unfortunatly the fun didn't last for long. Having done two laps in the second stint I pulled the car over to the parking area as I smelled fuel. Inspection learnt that the fuel tank was leaking. Fuel was pooring out of one of the welds. Time to call a local transportcompany and R029 went home on a trailer, for the second time in 10 days. ![]() ![]() Pictures by Marco Saba Trackback(0)
